Hi, my name is Anna and I am a Retoucher. A few years ago I couldn't thought that this will be my life's work.
How did I start?
When I was a school girl my friend introduced me to Photoshop and helped me figure it out. I became very interested in the process of retouching photos and when I ran out of photos that could be processed, I specially took photos of my friends, so I had a new "material" - and also a hobby-photography. For several years, I took and retouched my own photos. Various articles on the Internet, books, and video tutorials helped me learn more about retouching. But at that time I could not think that i can earn money by retouching
6 years after my first meeting with Photoshop I found one company which needed retouchers to edit photos. I spend a long time before I decide to apply this job. After successfully passing the test, I completed my first order. This was my secondary job, which I really liked. Over time I got more and more orders, I left my office job and began to do only retouching. I was approached by photographers from different parts of Russia and even foreign photographers were happy to work with me.
At some point I realized that I don't want to live in my own city and I want to travel as often as possible, especially since I can afford it. I took a minimum of things, a computer, and went to live in Asia. It was 8 months of a completely new and interesting life. At that moment, I realized all the excitement of online work. After that, there were many more small and large trips. I always take with me a computer and my favorite job is always with me anywhere i go.
I never stopped, I continued to study retouching, improve my skills, and learn something new. Orders and customers became more and more. And the more orders I received, the more time I spent on work and less on myself.
Therefore, I came up with the idea to find, train and raise the beginner retouchers by sharing all knowledges i keep for years and provide them orders and clients. Now we have five retouchers in our team, besides me, and we carry out orders of various complexity.
So my hobby turned into a job that brings me great pleasure.
